I decided to become a lawyer
because I love to help people.
I really do.
I also love to advocate for others.
I do not like when people
are taken advantage of.
I don't like when people
don't pursue justice.
I have always believed that people
should be treated fairly in our society.
I have always believed that corporations
and insurance companies should
treat individuals fairly.
It doesn't matter if you're a CEO or a
janitor, I believe that you
should be treated fairly.
When I was a little girl, I grew up
watching my father in the courtroom going
to trial against huge corporations and
insurance companies, and I've always been
very inspired by him because he
believed in helping the little guy.
My mother was a schoolteacher, and she
garnered in me a love
of reading and writing.
She also inspired me.
I decided that being a lawyer really just
quite frankly, was in my bloodline, and
that that's what I wanted
to do to help others.
My favorite part of working with my
clients is, quite frankly, at the end of a
case, when they come in and
they're thrilled about the result.
The most important thing
in my life is my family.
I have a 14-year-old son, and then I also
have two other children, my stepchildren.
My brother and I are very close,
even outside of the office.
Really, my focus as a lawyer is to help
those who have not been
treated fairly by others.
