State Road A1A
A1A scenic highway, starting at the Volusia/Flagler County line and extending to the northern limits of Beverly Beach, provides 72 beautiful miles of roadway. Palm Coast Parkway
Palm Coast Parkway runs east-to-west from U.S. Highway 1 to A1A. Because it intersects with several major freeways, it is the site of numerous traffic accidents, some of which have resulted in catastrophic injuries. One serious motorcycle accident occurred there in 2017 when a rider lost control of his bike near the Old Kings Road intersection.
Interstate 95
As the main highway of Florida's Atlantic coast, I-95 has a lot of traffic, which puts motorcyclists at risk. The highway saw at least one fatal motorcycle accident during Bike Week 2021 down in Ormond Beach. Before that, in March of 2019, a fatal motorcycle accident occurred on I-95 just north of Palm Coast Parkway.
Matanzas Woods Parkway
Matanzas Woods Parkway is a mostly two-lane road that runs from U.S. Highway 1 to Old Kings Road. Its intersections with freeways are notoriously hazardous, so much so that the Florida Department of Transportation spent $2.6 million to change the intersection of Matanzas Woods and U.S. 1 to a roundabout in 2020. In May of 2019, a motorcyclist died on Matanzas Woods when a student pulled out from Matanzas Woods High School and struck him.
