View on GoogleAbout Ormond Beach
Located just north of Daytona Beach, Ormond Beach is a great place to live, and it's a popular tourist destination for motorcyclists, families, and college students. The temperate climate and beautiful beaches are year-round attractions; in addition, there are a number of popular events and vacation breaks that greatly increase the number of visitors to the area at one time, including the Daytona 500, Daytona Bike Week, and spring break.
While tourism in Daytona Beach boosts the local economy, the downside is that the sheer number of people that visit the city can increase the risk of accidents. Add to that alcohol-fueled or generally reckless behavior, and it's really not all that surprising that we see an increase in injuries and fatalities during these seasonal events.
Daytona Bike Week
Daytona Bike Week is a 10-day event that is typically held in March at Daytona Beach and attracts half a million people each year. Unfortunately, the influx of visitors and traffic can result in an increase in motorcycle accidents. According to news reports, Daytona Bike Week resulted in significantly more injuries and deaths in 2021 than in previous years.
Injuries
Hospital officials reported that 91 people involved in motorcycle accidents were seriously injured in 2021. In comparison, 58 motorcycle crash patients were injured in 2020 and 61 were injured in 2019.
Deaths
Six people died at Bike Week in 2020 and one person died in 2019. In 2021, a total of eight deaths occurred, all caused by motorcycle accidents. Two of these motorcycle accidents happened in Ormond Beach.
Fatalities in Ormond Beach
One of the fatalities in 2021 occurred when a rider was traveling northbound on I-95; his motorcycle ran off the highway and rolled over. The other fatality occurred on Airport Road.

Frequently Asked Questions About Motorcycle Accidents
Q. What should I do if an insurance company wants to settle over my motorcycle accident?
A. If you were in a motorcycle accident, it may seem like a good thing if an insurance company wants to settle your motorcycle accident claim, especially if you have experienced personal injury or property damage. However, they may not have your best interest at heart. Our personal injury lawyer can look at every aspect of your claim to determine if the insurance company is offering you a fair settlement and help you decide if further pursuing the case is the best option for you.
Q. Is there a statute of limitations for motorcycle accident and personal injury claims?
A. Yes. In Florida, there is a four-year filing deadline for motorcycle, truck, and car accidents. While this may seem like a long time, the sooner you get started, the better. Our law firm can help you begin collecting evidence and building your case as soon as possible to help reduce the financial strain that is often involved with motorcycle and car accidents.
Q. What if I wasn't hurt? Should I still file a motorcycle accident claim?
A. Because damages can go beyond the physical effects, it is always best to have an attorney look over your case to help you decide if filing a motorcycle accident case would benefit you. A personal injury attorney can closely evaluate whether you've suffered other economic and non-economic damages that deserve compensation.
Q. How much could I get from a motorcycle accident case?
A. This will vary depending on many factors. Our personal injury lawyers will look at every facet of your motorcycle accident claim to help determine the best course of action for your case. Factors that we look at include the severity of your accident, contributing factors such as weather and possible negligence, long-term losses due to your motorcycle accident, and more. Our law firm will fight for what we think is fair for your unique situation.
More Clients' Reviews "Absolutely a 5-star firm."
Absolutely a 5 star firm ! Our Attorney was Greg Olsen and he was wonderful. Everyone at the Daytona office is polite, friendly and professional. This was our first time retaining a lawyer so of course we had lots of questions and concerns. They handled everything. Answered all our questions in terms we could understand. All we had to worry about was getting my Husband well enough to get out of the hospital. This firm truly cares about their clients. But, the very best thing about Chanfro & Chanfro is Senior Paralegal, Laura. She went way above and beyond for us. I can't begin to explain everything she did for our family that was not actually within her scope of employment. Not only is she very, very smart but she listens to your concerns & priorities and works to make things right. Again, Laura goes above & beyond because she genuinely cares. If you are in need of an Accident Attorney and you go with Chanfro & Chanfro, trust me, you won't be sorry. They will treat you like family.
