He will hold this highest rating well into the year 2019. This is the highest rating that an attorney can receive through Martindale-Hubbell®.
About the Rating Process
AV Preeminent® ratings are arrived at through a strenuous peer review process. Martindale-Hubbell® helps facilitate peer review surveys of lawyers to ensure they are rated as fairly and objectively as possible. To further increase objectivity, all peer review materials are treated as anonymous. This helps prevent bias and favoratism.
When the peer review process is initiated, an attorney may choose to submit as many or as few professional references as possible. To help ensure that the ratings are accurate, Martindale-Hubbell® will select peers who are based in the same geographic region as well as those who practice in the same areas of law.
What the Martindale-Hubbell® Ratings Mean
There are three levels of Martindale-Hubbell® peer review ratings. They are as follows:
- Notable - A Notable rating means that a large number of the lawyer’s peers recognized the his or her high ethical standards.
- Distinguished - A Distinguished rating means that the lawyer is respected among a wide number of his or her peers for their ethical standards as well as their professional achievements.
- AV Preeminent® - The highest possible rating through Martindale-Hubbell®, an AV Preeminent® rating means that a significant number of the lawyer’s peers feel that he or she exhibits the highest levels of professional excellence when it comes to their ethical standards, communication skills, and legal knowledge.
